Thanks for this enlightening post! I didn’t know any of the information listed- except for the part about the groundhog. I don’t know of any connection- but I think it is interesting that either way- this time of year there are traditions that have to do with light! Thanks for sharing.

I loved these books as a young girl and used to pretend I was living on the prairie. The stories seemed so magical to me and I loved the characters. I read and reread the books many times. I also loved the tv show. I always felt a connection to Half Pint. I haven’t reread these in many years- maybe I will crack them open again!
